How To Choose The Right Online Presence
by GuestAuthor on Mar.04, 2010, under WebSite Hosting
Your Online Presence is a very important part of your online business success. The question is: How will you present your product and/or service to your target market?
If you have been participating in the Internet Marketing arena you have no doubt seen ad-verts expressing that you can make money online, and you don’t even have to have a website to do it. If you are anything like I was when I first started out, you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Now Think About This: If you didn’t need a website to be successful online, why are these marketers trying to give you one of theirs? Hmmmm……That’s a lesson in its self.
Fact-1 : You must have your own Domain Name.
Fact-2 : You must have a suitable web presence.
Fact-3 : You must have a hosting account for your Domain Name, and to present your offer properly.
Fact-4 : If you do not have these to start with all you are doing is helping someone else brand their own product and/or
business.
Please don’t misunderstand. I am not saying or suggesting that it is not profitable to be a part of an affiliate program, but super-affiliates own their own Domain Names and they have their own unique web presence.
There are several ways to present yourself and/or your product or service.
1. Large Website
2. Mini-Website
3. Niche-Website
4. Blogs.
Let’s start with Blogs. Blogs have become very popular when it comes to web presence now-a-days, and many successful marketers aren’t using anything but Blogs for their marketing efforts.
Blogs have really evolved from just being personal online journals. They are beginning to resemble mini-websites, and marketers are using them more and more to present their offers. The search engines love them. You can also start your own marketing power Blog with any of the hosting services below.
Niche Sites- Depending on whose definition you choose to use or accept a Niche Site consists of three elements. 1. The product offer page or sales copy, 2. The order page, and 3. A thank you page. Some marketers call these “mini-sites”, and as I said it’s dependant on whose definition you choose to accept. On the other hand I consider them to be like T.V. commercials: short, but not always so sweet.
Why do I look at them as T.V. commercials? It’s because in most cases you will only view them for about 30-60 seconds, if that long, before moving on to the next ad-vert, although Niche-Sites do contribute to massive amounts of income generated on the Internet.
Mini-Site – Again depending on whose definition you choose to accept, Mini-Sites are generally a 3 to 5 page website, and are very easy to maintain and manage.
Mini-sites are ideal for a web-presence and for presenting your product and/or service. A lot of top marketers have begun to use the wysiwyg method for presenting their products, because these type of websites are easy to manage. There is no need to upload or download any files to your DNS ( Domain Name Server).
Large Websites- Large websites are what I consider to be 10-15 pages or more. Of course this also is open to interpretation. As for going into detail about Large websites, I won’t but…there are a lot of great examples some very good ones all over the internet.
What I will say is this. Large Websites all have sitemaps, and as you continue your Internet Marketing Journeys you will probably need one on your website or websites, and you can always get a free site map builder in the webmasters tool section at Google.com.
